Before Roads…

We could roam freely across fields, on horses or feet, with little fear of straying onto private land. Before lines were drawn thereupon, the only things guiding our direction and destination were our hearts and minds and the whims of instinct. We could wander through forests. Pick flowers. Make fires. Set up home wherever our feet became tired.

Damn those Romans!
